PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) has on Tuesday announced to take the Panama Leaks issue to Supreme Court on August 22, reported Dunya News.
Holding a press conference at Peshawar Al-Markaz Islami, JI head Sirajul Haq said that JI will be filing a writ over Panama Leaks issue on August 22 so that Supreme Court could do effective legislation regarding corruption. He added that everyone should be held accountable, including Prime Minister. He also said that those who got their loans written off should also be held accountable.
Siraj further stated that JI would not support anyone against the constitution and democracy. “Our protest aims at eradicating corruption. It is corruption due to which Pakistan is being held back. According to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), we have 2 trillion rupees of ours saved in Swiss banks”, said the JI chief. He urged the government to release the details of Pakistanis’ amounts deposited in Swiss banks by 2017.
